Monthly Quote – February

Some photographer friends & I are taking part in a monthly challenge, a chosen quote, and a picture that we feel describes that quote. You’ll see this on the 15th of every month, here on my blog. Enjoy!

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” – Maya Angelou

It’s almost a quiet fleeting moment, these ones that take my breath away. They are usually full of love and joy, but sometimes they are instead full of pain; both good and sad moments take my breath away. Regardless of the happy or sad, each good or bad moment makes up life, and while each breath passes so quickly, these fleeting moments of intense emotions are what we look back on and remember the most.

Partly because it was Valentine’s Day yesterday, and because it was 7 years since Nathan proposed, I felt this image was very appropriate in my life right now to describe this quote. We’ ve had some painful moments that have taken our breath away lately, and this image adequately describes the support and helpmate my husband has been, through those bad and good times, through moments of pain and happiness.

*Set up, lighting, and post production by me, shot by our amazing 5-year old!*

Oh, I love this! And I love that you had your 5 year old involved! I think it’s important to let our children see how much their parents love each other! Nice work from the whole family 😉ReplyCancel

I love how the negative space in the background emphasizes the emotion and adds drama to this capture. Your son is so talented! What a great idea to involve him in this special moment.ReplyCancel
